7 Day Weather Forecast: 28th April – 4th May
The fine weather is set to continue with another warm and dry day today, with long spells of hazy sunshine and highest temperatures of 17 to 22 degrees.
Tonight will remain dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells with lows of 7 to 11 degrees. Some patches of mist and fog will form in the southeast.
Conditions will remain pleasant tomorrow, though there will be a few showers in the afternoon, possibly turning heavy and thundery. Many areas will remain dry, with highs of 19 to 23 degrees.
Later this week, temperatures are expected to remain high but turn cooler from the northwest of the country through Thursday and Friday. Met Éireann has said a cold front will act as a “dividing line”, with cooler conditions in Connacht and Ulster and warmer temperatures in Leinster and Munster.
Thursday will start out cloudy in Connacht and Ulster with patchy rain and drizzle, before clearer, sunnier spells in the afternoon. It will be cooler than recent days with highs of 12 to 16 degrees.
In Leinster and Munster, it will start off sunny before cloud builds in the afternoon and a few showers break out, some possibly turning heavy and thundery. It will be warmer than the rest of the country with highs of 17 to 21 degrees.
There will be a mix of clear spells and cloudy on Thursday night and showers will continue in southern coastal counties.
Cooler, cloudier weather is expected to start off Friday, with a mix of light shower and some sunny breaks. Highest temperatures across the country will range from 12 to 16 degrees.
Looking ahead to the bank holiday weekend, Saturday will be dry and bright to start before cloud spreads southwards across the country, bringing some light rain or drizzle in the northern half of the country. It will be dry further south, with highs of 13 to 17 degrees.
Met Éireann has said temperatures for the rest of this weekend “look set to remain close to or slightly above the average for early May”.
