Hurling is a combative, physical game, but a worrying pattern has clearly emerged of lads going to ground easily, trying to get their opponent booked or sent off.
We’ve long talked about the need to stamp out headshots and dirty hits – which should have no place – but we also need to eradicate this trend of playing up incidents, trying to convince officials it was more than it really was.
