Dave Portnoy still has so many questions about Bill Belichick‘s awkward CBS interview, which included a tense appearance from girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
“[When they were] talking about the photos — which we’ve all seen — I don’t know if he knew anybody else saw those photos,” Portnoy, 48, noted during the Monday, April 28, episode of “The Barstool Rundown” podcast while referring to photos Hudson, 24, previously shared of her and Belichick, 73, dressed as mermaids “He’s like, ‘I don’t know who sent you those.’”
Portnoy recalled “literally squirming” at Belichick’s confusion.
“Then it went crazy viral. People are saying he’s, like, being held hostage. I’ve met Jordan,” he continued. “I don’t know what to say. I don’t think he knows what social media is [and] that these photos are like out there.”
Belichick’s sitdown with CBS Mornings aired on Sunday, April 27, where he was on hand to promote his new book, The Art of Winning: Lessons from My Life in Football. The conversation took a turn when Belichick was asked how he met Hudson who was in the background during the interview and interjected, “Not talking about this.”
Portnoy was confused by the response, suggesting Hudson shouldn’t have been on the defense. “It’s not [a] controversial [platform]. Those interviews are positive. They’re never supposed to be, like, an ounce of [anything negative], that’s why I was stunned,” he added. “I actually was saying, ‘I wonder if they’re going to bring up his girlfriend.’ I didn’t even think they’d mention it.”
While Portnoy’s cohosts brought up fan speculation about the dynamic between Belichick and Hudson, Portnoy shut it all down.
“I believe that they met on the plane. I believe his answer was truthful when he’s like, ‘I do what I think is best for me,’” Portnoy said. “He’s got an attractive young girl that he’s f****. He doesn’t give a f*** about anything else.”

Portnoy continued: “He’s been a guy who has never cared what anybody has thought. I’ve never seen him seemingly stunned in an interview.”
When asked what he thought of Hudson, Portnoy argued she was probably just trying to keep the interview focused on her boyfriend’s professional accomplishments.
“She’s just very much like the CEO of — and I’ve heard this now — I’ve known that she runs the Belichick enterprises and she’s coming in there like, ‘This is about the book,’” he added. “[She was probably like], ‘The book is about coaching football. It’s not about the relationship. You’re not going to talk about it.’”
Hudson and Belichick have been linked since 2023 after reportedly meeting on a plane in 2021 when she was in college and keeping in touch. After the awkward interview made headlines, Hudson broke her silence by sharing emails from Belichick where he expressed concern to his book publishers about how the promotion of the book would circle back to his personal life.
