Aviteur Launches Nautical-Inspired Newport Collection for Luxe Travel

Luxury luggage and travel accessories brand Aviteur’s latest voyage is at sea.

The Newport Collection, which was released on Tuesday, takes nautical inspiration with an all-blue lineup of elevated travel companions crafted in cerato waxed canvas with leather accents and palladium hardware.

Some of the made-in-Italy brand’s pieces include a shoulder bag, tote bag, duffle bag, toiletry bag and laptop case.

The brand’s founder Patricia Gucci—daughter of Aldo Gucci, president of Gucci for 30 years—said she had “subtlety over bling-bling” in mind for the maritime traveler, favoring durability and water-resistant pieces.

“For this latest collection designed for the boat, I used water-resistant waxed canvas with leather trim and finishes of the highest standards to meet the expectations of an increasingly sophisticated buyer, with clean lines, minimal embellishments, discreet branding, neutral tones, and a refined color palette,” Gucci told WWD.

Gucci founded the Aviteur brand in 2019, debuting an Italian calf leather carry-on with woven Paglia di Vienna caning motif.

“With the Newport Collection, my aim was to honor practicality with a classic aesthetic, executing every detail with refined artistry and cutting-edge techniques,” she said.

Patricia, who worked for her family’s namesake brand in the ‘80s, said Aviteur and the Newport collection is the manifestation of the “perfectionism” learned working for her family’s fashion house.

“This means a culture of excellence in everything we do: Impeccable craftsmanship, meticulous attention to detail, timeless designs and customer service that elevates the Aviteur experience. The fashion world is fickle, so it’s important to stay focused on our core values and not be swayed by fleeting trends. Gucci’s reputation was built on leather trunks, suitcases, bags and accessories of the highest quality. That is my benchmark.”
