If you’re looking to reduce your sugar intake, it’s best to start small. “It’s impossible for consumers to avoid all forms of sugar,” says Sofie Verdoodt of the Flemish Institute for Healthy Living. “Try to focus on small adjustments to your diet that seem feasible, so you can maintain them in the long term. That’s better than trying to eliminate all sugars in one week.”
“Light or zero drinks can be an alternative to sugary soft drinks,” says Verdoodt. “They do indeed contain little or no sugar.”
