The number of crimes recorded at more than half of the country’s garda stations last year exceeded already high levels in the pre-pandemic period, according to official figures.
An analysis of 2024 crime data published by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) shows the number of recorded offences for 52pc of garda stations nationwide was higher than in 2019.
