Meghan Markle is all about her man Prince Harry.
In an interview on the “Jamie Kern Lima” podcast shared on Monday, April 28, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, made it clear she’s still quite enamored with her husband of seven years — and he feels exactly the same way about her. “That man loves me so much,” she gushed. “And, you know, look at what we’ve built.”
“We’ve built a beautiful life and we have two healthy, beautiful children,” Meghan continued. The pair live in Montecito, California, with their young children Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
Meghan has offered many glimpses into that beautiful life of late. On Sunday, April 27, she shared three photos of herself and her children in their garden at home on Instagram. The snaps showcased the family’s beautiful roses, as well as Archie and Lili’s red hair they inherited from their father. “Sunday kind of love….with my little loves,” she captioned the sweet shots.
Here is everything Meghan spoke about in her first-ever podcast interview.
Prince Harry is like Super Mario
“I always think about the end of Super Mario Brothers, when you get to the final, final level and — what’s the goal in Super Mario, they’re like, ‘Slay the dragon, save the princess,’” she said. “I’m like, ‘That’s my husband. He’s just out there. Just constantly — he’s just going to do whatever he can to make sure our family is safe and protected and we’re uplifted and still make time for date nights.”
The couple has had time to slow down

The insight into the pair’s enviable life isn’t the only one Meghan offered. Now that things have settled down since the duo infamously stepped down from senior royal duties in January 2020 (and moved from the UK the West Coast of the U.S.), they can relax into one another.
“Now, seven years later [the pair met in 2018], when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way,” Meghan said. “And that’s why I feel like it’s more of a honeymoon period for us now.”
Harry is a “fox”
There’s also another perk to being married to Harry. “He’s also a fox, if you haven’t noticed,” she added. “My husband’s very, very handsome, but his heart is even more beautiful.”
She doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone

One of the more revealing moments was when Meghan said she is “just so done with the prove it game.”
“When you get the place where you feel ‘I don’t have to prove it anything to you anymore, I don’t have to prove that I’m a good person, I don’t have to prove to you that I’m a good wife or a mom or friend, I don’t have to prove that I work hard, it can be really freeing,” she explained.
“You’re proving nothing to anyone other than yourself,” Meghan added. “And that takes a lot of time and that takes a lot of pain and, at least in my own experience, but to just really go and not with an energy of ‘I’m over it, I don’t care’ — No, I care. But I don’t have to prove it to you, and if you can’t see it, I don’t need to prove to you why that’s your loss.”
Supporting small businesses is important to her
Elsewhere in the interview Meghan also touched on her ability to uplift small and emerging brands, something she carefully considers when she steps out at public events. As someone who has experienced being unable to directly address stories and rumors that surrounded herself and her family, Meghan said she’s found other ways to offer that kind of support.
“So if you couldn’t hear me, how could I be heard through what I was wearing?” she explained. “If that’s what people were focusing on, or the choices I was making… you don’t have to say a word, but [wearing something] would move product for small companies. If I can come in with a little sprinkle of fairy dust just by wearing a bracelet or doing something that changes the course of their business, that’s a huge honor to be able to have that kind of impact.”
She’s not interested in running for office
Despite rumors to the contrary, Meghan made it clear there’s one world she has no interest in entering: politics.
When asked if she’d consider running for office, Meghan replied, “No. Never. Oh, God.” Though she added, “I mean, you could say, ‘Never say never,” she doubled down on her initial response and added, “No, I’m not interested in that. No.”
She loves Olive Garden and Shondaland shows
And of course, Meghan is into a lot of the same things the rest of us are, including Shondaland and Olive Garden. She named Bridgerton as a show she especially loves, and also said she “loves a never-ending pasta bowl.”
