Favourite places: I love anywhere in Greece. From Kalymnos to Athens, I have visited over 60 Greek islands and have never been disappointed. I adore Glenmalure Lodge at the foot of Lugnaquilla Mountain in Wicklow. It is one of the best places on earth — magical and friendly — and closer to home.
I don’t like fancy hotels; I don’t enjoy the stuffy environment of a building trying to be posh or luxury. I much prefer relaxed and casual. I love kooky, interesting hotels like Marlfield House or Cabra Castle. I also love any B&B run by crazy, fun old ladies or anything carved into a cliff, but I really love to stay on the beach. I have found many rooms on beaches in Greece at really affordable rates.
