Temperatures could reach highs of 18 degrees today following a cloudy, rainy start to the morning in some parts of the country.
The rain will largely clear by this afternoon and it will be generally dry for the rest of the day apart from the odd light shower.
It will become brighter with some sunny spells developing throughout the day as afternoon highs of generally 14 to 18 degrees are expected before dropping to lows of 9 to 12 degrees overnight.
Met Éireann has forecast a mixed day on Monday, starting cloudy with any lingering drizzle clearing into dry and sunny spells by afternoon as temperatures reach highs of 14 to 18 degrees.
High pressure over the coming days will bring largely settled conditions with “plenty of dry, bright and warm weather on the way”.
Tuesday is expected to be warm and sunny with highest temperatures hitting 16 to 20 degrees before some showers are possible on Wednesday in the afternoon, though the rest of the day will be dry and sunny with highs of 17 to 21 degrees.
Thursday will see some isolated showers with highest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees expected in Connacht and Ulster and between 15 to 20 degrees expected in Munster and Leinster.
Met Éireann has said that nearby high pressure looks “likely to continue to dominate our weather although some light rain or showers are possible at times”.
“Daytime temperatures will fall back slightly next weekend, generally getting into the mid-teens.”
