Senior GAA officials were asked to consider banning the publication of PSNI adverts in match day programmes over the 1997 murder of Sean Brown, a former club chairman killed by loyalists.
The issue was raised at a GAA central council meeting last month. A member of the council asked other county delegates and senior figures in the organisation whether it is appropriate for GAA programmes to promote the police force in the North while issues around Mr Brown’s death are outstanding.
