Britney Spears’ Ex Sam Asghari is giving insight into his new relationship with girlfriend Brooke Irvine.
“It’s all about love. That’s what it is,” Asghari, 31, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, April 25, while attending the opening weekend of The Tryst Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.
“It’s not about the industry, it’s not about Hollywood,” he continued of his newfound relationship with the Los Angeles-based real estate agent and what the pair love about each other. “It’s about what really is the most important thing, and that’s being present, being in the moment and supporting others that are doing this same thing.”
The Traitors contestant officially confirmed his relationship with Irvine in January 2025 via Instagram, though they had previously been spotted cozying up to each other in November 2024.
At the time, Asghari shared a slew of photos featuring Irvine, along with the caption: “Happy New Year to All.”
Asghari’s new relationship comes on the heels of his divorce from pop superstar Spears. The pair wed on June 9, 2022, but went on to separate on July 20, 2023. According to court documents filed at the time, the pair split due to “irreconcilable differences that have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, making it impossible for the parties to live together as husband and wife.”
Asghari officially filed for divorce on Aug. 16, 2023.
Spears and Asghari’s divorce was finalized on May 2, after a judge with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles County signed off on their settlement. The pair were declared legally single on December 2 of that same year, as California law requires a minimum six-month waiting period.
One day after Asghari was considered legally single, Us Weekly confirmed his relationship with Irvine. At the time, a source told Us that after taking “some time for himself after the divorce” he is now “very happy” with Irvine, who the insider called a “normal girl.”
The source also told Us at the time that Asghari and Irvine had been dating “for a few months.”
On Friday, Asghari and Irvine made their red carpet debut — a choice that wasn’t necessarily deliberate, but one Asghari explained made sense given the spirit of the evening.
“It wasn’t, ‘Now is the time,’ or whatever, but we’re here to support a great cause,” he said. “Love is not about gender, not about race, not about anything. Love doesn’t understand any of those things, so that’s why I’m always going to be an ally of this [LGBTQ+] community — because they help me believe that and understand that. That’s what’s really great about this community.”
