A garda was brutally punched and gripped in a headlock while his female colleague was struck on the arm by a man who attempted to walk out of a midlands based garda station shortly after his arrest, it is alleged.
Garda Sean Barrett was allegedly forced to the ground during the violent struggle with Kevin Lynam, of 56 Raithin Eoghain, Ashe Road, Mullingar, Westmeath at Mullingar Garda Station on October 25, 2023, prosecutors told a District Court sitting in the midlands town.
