Megyn Kelly doesn’t understand why Blake Lively was recognized on the TIME 100 list of influential individuals in light of her ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni.
“It’s a ridiculous joke. She shouldn’t be there,” Kelly, 54, quipped to the Daily Mail on the Thursday, April 24, red carpet. “She has no influence over anything.” (Us Weekly has reached out to Lively’s team for comment.)
Lively, 37, was named to TIME’s annual list of the most influential people of 2025, an honor that she did not take lightly.
“It’s an honor to be acknowledged on the @time 100 list for 2025🤍🙏🤍 To be written about by the great @sherrilynifill is not something I take lightly. Her work has shaped our nation,” Lively wrote via Instagram on April 16. “WHO SHE IS — as a human, woman, mother, leader, fighter, healer, empath, risk taker and dream maker — has shaped my heart and also my stamina to never stop believing in a future that’s better and safer for everyone.”
She added, “Thank you @time And thank you @sherrilynifill for one of the most surreal and meaningful moments of my life in this honor. My 10-year-old self is pretty blown away right now.”
Lively, who has not publicly addressed Kelly’s comments, attended the Thursday gala with husband Ryan Reynolds and her mom, Elaine. She used her speech to honor female survivors like Elaine.
“I have so much to say about the last two years of my life, but tonight is not the forum,” Lively said, alluding to her lawsuit against Baldoni, 41. “What I will speak to separately, is the feeling of being a woman who has a voice today, and since I could speak, because of the pain, cautions and fight of the many women who have paved the way, and the men who stood beside them. Millions I will never know the name of. Because every life, every act, big or small, affects another. … My life was influenced most by my mother, who’s here with me tonight, an eternal optimist who’s always leaving me messages, hoopin’ and hollerin’ sayin’, ‘life’s just a bowl of cherries.’”
She continued, “But, at her urging and unwavering bravery, she wanted me to share with you that she is a survivor of the worst crimes someone can commit against a woman. I’ve watched her conceal her raw and undeserved shame my entire life, so, as her daughter, being asked to share this today is monumental. If we name it, we change it.”
Lively accused Baldoni, her costar and director in 2024’s It Ends With Us, of sexual harassment and trying to ruin her reputation in a December 2024 lawsuit. He vehemently denied the allegations, later filing a multimillion-dollar defamation suit against her and Reynolds, 48. The married couple has since each filed to dismiss Baldoni’s case.
Kelly, meanwhile, has her own opinions about the legal saga.
“I think she launched a fake ‘Me Too’ allegation against him, and she’s lived to regret doing so because virtually every allegation she’s made has fallen apart,” Kelly claimed to the Daily Mail. “And so, for her to be doing so, to try and ruin a man over absolutely nothing is a scandal.”
The conservative commentator further speculated that she “had a feeling” Lively and Reynolds “would be avoiding” her inside the TIME occasion.
“I won’t be avoiding anybody. I’m good,” Kelly quipped on the red carpet.
