An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a man’s body in a home in Co Kildare yesterday.
Gardaí in Kildare say they are “investigating all of the circumstances” surrounding the death of an adult male, following the discovery of a body at a property in Athy, Co Kildare at approximately 11am on Thursday, April 24.
The body of the deceased has since been removed from the scene for a post-mortem examination by the Office of the State Pathologist. Gardaí say the results of the post-mortem will assist them in determining the course of their investigation.
The scene was preserved for a time yesterday while a Garda forensic team carried out a technical and forensic examination. The local coroner was also notified.
Gardaí are urging anyone with any information to come forward immediately.
