Sutton Stracke is still processing Garcelle Beauvais’ abrupt exit from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I think we were all sort of in shock,” Sutton, 53, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at Us + Maidenform’s Reality Star Style Awards party on Tuesday, April 22. “But Garcelle is a very strong woman so she’s going to make her decision and do what she’s going to do. I just want her to live her best life and be happy.”
Although Garcelle, 58, recently raised eyebrows when she unfollowed a majority of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast, Sutton is optimistic their friendship can get back on track — regardless of social media behavior.
“I am hopeful,” she said at The Highlight Room in New York City. “I am just hoping that Garcelle is good and happy and on the path that she wants to be on, which I know she is.”
On March 25, Garcelle surprised some fans when she announced she was leaving the Bravo show after five seasons. The TV host and producer explained that “one of the reasons” for her departure was because of her two youngest sons, twins Jaid and Jax, both 17.

“Their last year of high school is next year, and I want to be a part of that, and Jaid is starting a new career, and I want to be a part of that too,” she continued. “Secondly, I have the most exciting projects that I am developing, producing and acting in. I can’t tell you anything right now, but you’ll know soon.”
While Sutton — who received the Reality Star Style Best Shoe Collection Award — believes her friendship with Garcelle will get back on track, some relationships may take a bit more time.
After feuding with Dorit Kemsley for much of season 14, Sutton is unsure when the pair will be able to get to a peaceful place.

“I think on both of our parts, a lot was said, and I don’t think either one of us wants the other to be unhappy,” she told Us. “I don’t think either one of us wants to have such animosity between us. So it may take a year, it might take 10 years, but I think eventually we will find common ground. I think we will. I just don’t know how long it’s going to take.”
Although Bravo has yet to confirm any casting decisions for season 15, Sutton already knows things are going to be “interesting going forward.”
“With everything, [you] never know what’s going to happen,” she said. “I think every time we start up again, it’s like, ‘What is this going to be now?’ Every season always enters that great unknown.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming now on Peacock.
