LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell isn’t concerned about how his relationship might change after being drafted into the NFL — because pro football runs in his girlfriend’s blood.
Campbell, 21, is dating Ashlynn Nussmeier, the daughter of former NFL player and current New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator, Doug Nussmeier. Prior to being hired by the Saints in February, Doug was the quarterbacks coach for Super Bowl LIX champions, the Philadelphia Eagles.
Ashlynn’s brother, Garrett Nussmeier, also happens to be the quarterback at LSU.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly before the 2025 NFL Draft, Campbell gushed about Ashlynn’s support throughout the process.
“She’s amazing,” said Campbell, while promoting his partnership with Head & Shoulders. “She has a football background, so she knows what it takes, the sacrifices that have to be made. If she wasn’t as good with that type of stuff, I’m sure it would be a lot more difficult. But she’s a rock star.”

Campbell added, “It’s been very easygoing and the same as it was whenever I was living in Baton Rouge.”
Ashlynn shared a picture of the couple together via Instagram after an LSU game in December 2024. “Just keeps getting better!!!” she captioned the photo carousel. She shared another postgame photo from September 2024, in which she wrapped her arms around Campbell and wrote, “So back.”
In addition to Ashlynn’s support, Campbell heaped praise on his “parents, my aunts and uncles, my brother, all my friends.”
“I’m so lucky to have all those people in my life,” he said. “They all want the best for me. They all look out for me and they all love me.”
Campbell explained how it’s been particularly “surreal” to go through this journey with his parents, Brian and Holly.
“They’ve seen how hard I worked,” he reflected. “They’ve seen me tell people that I wanted this from a young age. Everybody in my town would be like, ‘Oh yeah,’ and just kind of blow it off.”
He added, “So for this to come full circle, it’s been really cool. Not just for me, but for everybody that’s in my circle.”
As he prepares for life in the NFL, Campbell explained how he draws a parallel between his performance on the field and his hygiene practices at home.
“Playing offensive line, the big thing is consistency,” he said. “When you have Head & Shoulders and you use that consistently in your routine, it keeps the dandruff, the oil and all the bad stuff out of your scalp. It just has you looking the best as possible.”
