A bogus charity collector caught fraudulently seeking donations for a soup kitchen was “naive” and did not realise what he was doing was not legitimate, his defence said.
Danny Ward (32) had a hi-vis vest, fake ID and a court permit when gardaí found him collecting from the public in a Dublin shopping centre and park.
