The mother of an Irish woman allegedly murdered by her partner in Spain broke down in tears yesterday at the start of his murder trial as she described the accused as someone she “didn’t like” and “didn’t trust”.
Jackie Ward said her daughter Kirsty Ward’s trip to Spain with Dubliner Keith Byrne (33) was a “make-or-break holiday”, and said she found out after her daughter’s death that she was going to leave him.
