Finance Minister had said the issue would have to be looked at again in wake of US tariffs
From next year, alcohol must carry warning labels
The Department of Health says there is no review of the plan to attach warning labels to alcohol from next year, even though Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe has said the issue would have to be looked at again, in the context of the US tariffs.
Mr Donohoe told RTÉ’s This Week programme on April 6 that the introduction of health warnings would have to be “carefully examined again” by the Government. His comments came just after US president Donald Trump’s imposition of a 20pc “reciprocal” tariff on the EU, which has since been suspended for 90 days.
